Introduction To Traffic
What is Traffic? Well today I woke up and I was running late to work and had to sit in some traffic. I believe that this is the wrong kind of traffic your looking for.
Here's the funny part: Most people don't know what traffic means and what qualities there are, to traffic. We are strictly talking about website traffic on this blog.
There are three types of Web Traffic:
1. VISITORS
2. BUYERS
3. AFFILIATES
I will show you how to separate these types of traffic. Most traffic tracking or analytics websites, will tell you where the traffic is coming from, but not what type of traffic you are receiving.
Visitors are individuals who go to your site, because they found you on a search engine like google, yahoo, bing, etc. They are not necessarily going to buy your service or product, because they are going to do more research before they purchase anywhere. You have done this before, hit the back button, until you reach your main search page and click on the next website that appears in your search results. Everyone does this, you need to put yourself into your buyers shoes. In fact, put yourself in your own shoes. As a visitor, you know that your going to eventually find your "Gold Website" and book mark it. You book mark your "Gold Websites" because you never want to lose that source. This is the site you plan to send business to. This is the site your going to do business with.
(Note: A Gold Website is your finalized source for whatever your searching the internet for. I call it Gold because this is one of your sites that you have chosen to purchase from. If you found that it's not the right fit you will forget the name and never return to that online source.)
Buyers are individuals who have looked all over the internet and finally found your website and are going to purchase because of price, site content, feedback, response time, and money back guarantee. You might even be the second website they find and they chose to buy from you because of what they see. They have confidence and trust in your website because of your website content. Nothing is free, but if you promote visitors to start a free trial, they will join and later purchase; depending upon the price and how well your website is working for them. I don't know about you, but when I find a website that I like, I go straight to their "pricing page". This tells me , whether or not I want to give my money to them. I suppose if I have used their service or product under the "free trial", chances are; I'm going to spend money. Especially, if it's working for me. So visitors can turn into buyers.
(Note: Visitors may start a free trial, but there is no guarantee that they will purchase from you. Do your homework. Make sure that your product or service is cheaper than your competition and give your visitors a sample of your product or service, by allowing them to start a free trial. This is key, if your a new business owner. I wouldn't change your pricing, until you know your product or service is the best of it's kind, beating out your competition. You can change your pricing when you get enough "praisable feedback" from your users or customers. You can then post your feedback and change your price, which tells new visitors and potential customers you product or service is the best on the web.)
The GranFatheredIn key reminder: You never want to lose a current customer or user. Don't ever change your pricing and expect your current users or customers to adjust and pay more. They WON'T. They will go somewhere else, because chances are your website is popular and you have newer competition. Think if Mark decided to charge people to use Facebook. The next day, someone would be making a new social network and possibly make it better than facebook. (Or) Twitter would be the next best thing. This is why you treat your current customers with respect and privilege them, by letting them know that their price will always stay the same. Remember it was those customers who had faith in your product or service and supported you when you were just getting started with your business. Don't disappoint them with hidden fees, like every cellphone provider, well known banks, and other big businesses that look at their customers, as just a number. You want your customers their for "the long haul". The moment you mistreat them, they are gone and might even spread bad rumors about your company.
Word of Mouth: Is the best and number one advertisement and business can receive. Don't let your business be rumored by customers who were mistreated. Make sure that you make them feel as important as you feel you should be treated. In fact, word of mouth advertisement is so powerful that you will have other happy customers advertising for you, without even paying them. So which do you prefer, good comments or bad. It's your choice, make the right one.
Affiliates are visitors and buyers. They have most likely, visited your site and found your product or service is a great conversion or has great potential. They will be a buyer, because they want to make sure that they are promoting a great product or service. They will also buy, because chances are they will be using your product or service, in their daily life. Put yourself in their shoes. Would you sell something that you have never tried or used? Why! Because you don't feel comfortable selling something you don't use. In fact, most people will promote something they only love. So your affiliates are going to want to fall in love wit your product or service before they decide to promote it. It's not that they need this so called love, but it's the excitement they get when they talk about your product or service, which helps them sell it and promote it. If they are making money, they are happy. If they are seeing results themselves, they are going to want to tell everyone they know, which in turn makes them money.
(Note: Your going to want your affiliates to succeed just as much as you want yourself to succeed. When they make money, you make money. Simple, enough. Conversion means they take your product and see results from other users on their website, where they are promoting your product or service. They are seeing conversions by leads who convert into sales or buyers.)
